Crash Blocked Three Lanes of Southbound 101

Rollover on I-280 on-ramp also prompted a shut-down.

A multi-vehicle crash blocked several lanes of southbound U.S. Highway 101 in San Mateo this afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred on Highway 101 just north of the Third Avenue exit at about 2 p.m., Officer Eric Anderson said. A Sig-alert was issued at 2:29 p.m. because the damaged vehicles were blocking three lanes of traffic.

In another accident in the Northern Peninsula, a car rolled over on an Interstate Highway 280 on-ramp in San Bruno, prompting the CHP to issue a traffic advisory for the area.
