Carjacking Suspect Caught Thanks to Distinct Tattoo, Multi Agency Police Search

San Mateo police say a San Bruno man was arrested in connection to a recent carjacking which was tracked through several Peninsula jurisdictions.

By Bay City News Service:

Thanks to a highly recognizable tattoo, police were able to arrest a suspect in a San Mateo carjacking this week.

The victim reported the carjacking to San Mateo police on Monday around 6 p.m., according to police.

He said the suspect threatened him with a knife near Tilton and Railroad avenues before taking his car, according to police.

A patrol sergeant recognized the victim's description of the suspect's tattoo from a recent police flyer, and identified the suspect as Miguel Cisneros.

Multiple police agencies were then put on alert.

Police in Broadmoor found the stolen vehicle on Skyline Drive in Daly City.

Authorities then located Cisneros near San Bruno's Ritz Inn just after midnight, and found him allegedly in possession of the victim's wallet, phone and gold chain.

Cisneros has been booked into San Mateo County Jail on charges of carjacking, robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, drug charges and a parole hold, police said.
