A San Mateo man whose body was found a day after he disappeared while swimming at Lake Berryessa Saturday has been identified as Tau Sitaniselao Juliest Beck, according to Capt. Tracey Stuart of the Napa County Sheriff's Office.
An autopsy Monday, which would have been Beck's 25th birthday, was expected to confirm that he died by drowning after slipping beneath the surface of the lake Saturday afternoon.
"He was out with a group of people on a boat and went swimming," Stuart said. "He swam a distance from the boat and went under."
Beck's body was found Sunday at about 4:40 p.m. in 30 feet of water not far from where he was last seen, Stuart said.
