February Mtg/Webinar; Amazon Smile; Save Date for Advocacy Day (DC)

There are four elements to this post: February Affiliate Meeting; Amazon Smile for donations; February webinar; Save Date for Advocacy Day in DC, perhaps including their Purple Stride & sightseeing … FYI, local Purple Strides dates are 22 June for SF (see http://www.pancan.org/section_get_involved/volunteer/affiliate_details.php?id=33) and early December for San Jose

Here is a great opportunity to make a painless contribution to the charity of your choice, for which the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is my preference, of course.  Amazon.com now has a program called Smile for which 0.5% of every purchase is contributed to charity.

It could not be easier to enroll!

I put Amazon Smile into the Amazon search box and it came back with a screen asking which charity for them to send 0.5% of purchase. Red Cross is their preferred charity, but typing Pancreatic Cancer Action Network into the option box brings up a short list.  Pancreatic Cancer Action Network HQ in Manhattan Beach comes up first.

Now our Prime account shows slightly different information in the upper left corner, i.e. the account is Amazon Smile Prime ... with all the same privileges as Prime, while PanCan is explicitly shown as beneficiary.  I assume this works the same if you don’t happen to have a Prime account.

February Pancreatic Cancer Action Network webinar is Feb 21st.  FYI, all past webinars are archived at:
