Thanks and Giving

During this season of thanks and giving, it is comforting to know that our community supports those in need.  An annual donation from the San Mateo Elks Lodge to help our homeless brothers and sisters at St. Vincent de Paul’s Homeless Help Center in San Mateo is one such example.  On Friday, November 22nd, members of the Elks Lodge gathered and donated men’s and women’s undershirts, underwear, socks, gloves and the ever needed large cans of tuna.

St. Vincent de Paul’s Homeless Help Center guests are in need of love and care right now.  We appreciate the Elks showing compassion in action for those who are persistently, unstably housed and of working together to strengthen our community. This caring collaboration for the neediest in our midst helps our community grow and prosper and captures the thankfulness and spirit of the holiday season.

Roger Cutler of the Elks Club notes, “We had a lot of fun getting all those under garments together. Everyone who watched us at Costco were astounded at three elderly men buying all those items.”
