“Anita’s design simply and beautifully captures the essence of miracles made possible through organ and tissue donation. Most of us have grown up with the tradition of ‘wishing on a star’ for our desired dreams and hopes. Thanks to the generosity of those who say ‘yes’ to donation, wishes come true every day for those in need of organ and tissue transplants,” said Ayanna Anderson, CTDN Community Development Liaison and organizer of the contest.

Lam, who is studying art with San Mateo High School Art instructor Elizabeth Yapp, is the daughter of Jessica Li.

“I considered the theme of miracles and I was reminded of wishing on a star. I also wanted to represent the unity of families and hearts representing the heartfelt connection made possible through helping others,” she said.

Lam’s art work will be used to create a holiday card for CTDN and she receives an iPad.  See all the winning entries on CTDN’s Facebook page or at ctdn.org
