Coat Drive Accepting Donations at Hillsdale Shopping Center

Donated coats will be accepted at the Customer Service Center from Nov. 29 through Dec. 17 during mall hours.

San Mateo's Hillsdale Shopping Center and the Samaritan House are seeking donations for the One Warm Coat Drive to keep those less fortunate warm this holiday season.

Hillsdale is encouraging its community to go through their closets to donate new or unused coats to this organization. Donations will be accepted at the Customer Service Center from Nov. 29 through Dec. 17 during mall hours. 

“We are proud to be teaming up with San Mateo’s Samaritan House,” Hillsdale Shopping Center Marketing Director Christine Kupczak said in a statement.

“It is with great joy that we continue to give back to those in need within our community,” she said.

One Warm Coat is a national community service effort assisting in the collection of reusable coats and jackets for donation to local individuals free of charge. Drop off stations are located throughout the country.

Samaritan House is a non-profit health and service agency that has been meeting the needs of low-income neighbors for more than 30 years.

With the help of more than 3,000 volunteers and in-kind donations, Samaritan House helps more than 12,000 individuals each year through programs that include nutrition, medical care, case management, counseling, holiday assistance and more.
