For The Love of Dance

On July 22 Peninsula Ballet Theatre is presenting a Festival of New Dance Works celebrating the one-year anniversary of our Regional Arts Center.

Highlight of the evening will be choreography by Artistic Director Bruce Steivel inspired by “Sonnet in Search of a Moor”, an interpretation of Shakespeare’s Othello from the 1958 ground breaking jazz composition “Sweet Thunder” by Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn. Jazz musician Gene Burkert provides live accompaniment.

Dancers from Peninsula Ballet Theatre’s new troupe Studio One will perform this piece along with other new works by some of the Bay Area’s most promising new choreographers.
