3rd Annual San Mateo Autumn Moon Festival

Senator Leland Yee is inviting all residents to the 3rd Annual San Mateo Autumn Moon Festival on Sunday September 8th. There is a long history to this traditional Chinese celebration. The Autumn Moon Festival is one the most important holidays for the Chinese community. The Festival falls on the fifteenth day of the eight lunar month of the Chinese calendar. At this time, the moon is at its fullest and brightest, making it an ideal time to celebrate the abundance of the summer's harvest. Attractions at this year's Festival will include a bounce house, balloons, tattoos, games for kids and pets for adoption from the Peninsula Humane Society. There will also be demonstration booths and performances of dance, music, martial arts and artwork that will amaze the crowd as well as a variety of food trucks that will serve up delicious food that will be sure to suit any palate.
