San Francisco International Airport officials are warning travelers that lengthy flight delays are possible today if the gray skies do not clear.
Airport duty manager Doug Yakel said that at 8 a.m., a weather-related ground-delay program went into effect that will slow the arrival rate of incoming flights.
He said that won't immediately cause a backup, but that if the program remains in effect as the day goes on, delays of several hours are possible as the slowdown begins to affect departing flights.
