First Ever San Mateo County Pride Celebration in Central Park

The San Mateo-based event expects to draw residents from all over the county.

For the first time ever, San Mateo residents don't have to travel far to participate in a pride celebration.

This Saturday, June 15, the First Annual San Mateo County LGBTQQI Pride Celebration is planned for Central Park Recreation Center in San Mateo from 12 - 4 p.m.

LGBTQQI — the ever-growing acronym — stands for Lesbian-Gay-Bisexual-Transgender-Queer-Questioning-Intersex.

The free celebration, which will be held at 50 E Fifth Ave. in San Mateo, will be adorned with live music, panel discussions, entertainment for kids, film screenings, raffles and even HIV testing.

Alcohol will not be served at the event.
