Mother's Day Brunch: Where Will You Go?

Are there long-time favorites you've always relied on to have the day begin with a special meal? We'd like to know.

When you think about it, Mother's Day may be more important than many of those other holidays that get all the attention during the year. Fourth of July, Memorial Day, Presidents Day...other than to have a day off, or maybe throw a few firecrackers in the air, what do they really mean to you?

But Mother's Day...well, moms are just...special.

Many of us celebrate the tradition of Mother's Day by treating mom to an elegant brunch.

That said, where do you go if brunch is on the family agenda for Sunday, May 13?

This week, as part of our Readers' Choice selections, we're asking you to let us know who serves the best Mother's Day brunch in San Mateo.

Here are the choices:

Tell us who you think has the best Mother's Day brunch, either by voting in the poll below, by leaving us your comments, or by heading to our directory and giving us your rating of the restaurant. And if you don't find your favorite here, just let us know in the comments, and we'll include it.

Now, this poll is not scientific, and will not be the sole consideration when we chose a winner. The winner will be determined based on poll results and your comments and reviews in our directory.

The voting starts now, and ends Friday at 9 a.m., so please, let us know!

I see that I meant to type "...that connect us to the past," but I accidentally typedRead More "...and connect us to the past." I think my meaning came through, though. Yes, the world does not need another national chain retail store or restaurant, which is surely what they're planning to put in there.

Yes Bren, agree with you....good point.....really what it seems to come down to is money vs. theRead More good of the community and richness of traditions. And all despite the Master Plan for that site in San Mateo that seems to require an ice skating rink or similar recreational facility AT THAT SITE, and all despite the fact the Ice Chalet would like to continue operations there. The Developer has made it difficult to impossible for any ice rink to operate there (tricky it seems)....so they can get a cookie cutter retail outlet in ? .....very, very sad for the youth of the community.

I think the issue is much larger than whether children will experience stress. That ice rink is aRead More local institution, dating back at least to when Fashion Island was there. It's terrible for communities to lose so many landmarks and connect us to the past.

Dear Ari, Thank you for your service to our community. It's wonderful that you are already making aRead More difference.
