How Well Do You Know Your Wines?

Viognier Restaurant in San Mateo will hold blind taste testings every week through the end of June. Guess the wine correctly, and you're drinking it for free.

Are you a seasoned wine connoisseur? Or maybe just a fan of wine tasting?

Either way, in San Mateo is the place you may want to be for the next several Thursdays.

This past Thursday, May 17, the restaurant kicked off its "Thirteen Thursdays" event, which features a blind taste test and flights of wines that change every week.

If you fancy yourself a discerning palate for wines, try your hand at the blind taste test - if you can correctly guess at least two of the three wines, your wine flight is free.

Hosted by Advance Sommelier and Viognier Beverage Director, Nichole Dishman, guests are invited to try a different three-wine flight each week for $13. Pass the test, and your $13 fee is waived.

Located in downtown San Mateo, Viognier is named for the grape variety originating from the Northern Rhône region of France. Viognier's wine list features a selection of 1,100 wines, emphasizing California and Europe.
