San Mateo Restaurateur to Open Campo Pizzeria

Owners of Sam's Chowderhouse, Paul and Julie Shenkman, are planning to open an artisan pizza restaurant in Palo Alto, inspired by the slow food movement of Italy.

Pizza to go? Campo Pizzeria will have too much atmosphere to dine and dash.

Owners Paul and Julie Shenkman, and chef-partner Lewis Rossman are creating their third restaurant as they seemingly move down the Peninsula.

The creators of Half Moon Bay's Sam's Chowderhouse, the mobile Sam's Chowdermobile, and San Mateo's Osteria Coppa, are planning to open an artisan pizza restaurant in Palo Alto, inspired by the slow food movement of Italy.

You want to take your time at a restaurant that will also feature handcrafted Italian-style pasta, a mozzarella bar, seasonal small plates, and organic, farm-fresh salads.

The location, on the corner of Emerson and University, used to house Lavanda Restaurant most recently, and World Wraps before that.

According to sfeater.com, the restaurant is hoping for a November opening.

I think the issue is much larger than whether children will experience stress. That ice rink is aRead More local institution, dating back at least to when Fashion Island was there. It's terrible for communities to lose so many landmarks and connect us to the past.
