Change Your Warm-Up Mindset: 3 key things a warm-up should include:
1. Focus on posture: chest high, stand tall like a superhero
2. Bring awareness to your breathing and slow your breath, inhaling for 4 seconds and exhaling for 4 seconds until you get more relaxed.
3. State your goal of the workout and what is your bigger goal? What do you really want?
Shift your identity. Be positive. Say a statement like, “I am a warrior”, “I can do this” “Bring it” “Today I am going to kill it” and many more. Focus on these key points before each workout to make a transformational shift in your mindset. Focus on the present, let go of stresses. This will allow you to power through your workouts and have a more enjoyable experience. No matter your warm up method, whether you warm-up with treadmills or exercises, use the same warm-up mindset model.
When you walk through the door of any gym or workout studio, walk tall and start to focus on your slow, deep breathing. State your intention of the workout and the bigger goal. Then state a phrase that resonates with you. You will get a better more efficient workout.
