Young Artists Get Their Moment

City Arts of San Mateo shows work by students from Aragon, Hillsdale and San Mateo high schools.

Monday’s City Council meeting began with a moment of pride for many young local artists, as council members handed out awards to acknowledge their outstanding work.

Students from Aragon, Hillsdale and San Mateo high schools showed off their work recently in the San Mateo library, and this was a time for the city to offer its congratulations.

“Our theme this year was ‘pathways,’” explained Michelle Epstein, president of City Arts of San Mateo. She described City Arts as a nonprofit art advisory group that “seeks to promote and celebrate performing, liberal and literary art here in San Mateo.”
