CORA's Fifth Annual Benefit Dinner -- Spring Awakening: Seeds of Hope

Celebrate Spring and support survivors of domestic violence and abuse at CORA's fifth annual benefit dinner, Spring Awakening: Seeds of Hope, honoring the award winning documentary film, Crime After Crime.

This event, held at the Menlo Circus Club, benefits CORA  (Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse), San Mateo County's only agency dedicated solely to helping those affected by domestic violence and abuse through shelter, counseling, legal and educational services.

For more than 30 years, CORA has worked to end the intergenerational cycle of domestic violence and relationship abuse.  During 2011 we provided safety, hope and healing to over 8,000 families.

The evening includes a wine reception and raffle, dinner, guest speakers, and live auction.

Guest speaker, Joshua Safran, lead attorney from Crime After Crime will share his compelling story. As a nine year old boy, Joshua felt powerless to stop the abuse he saw his mother endure.  As an attorney, he took the case of Debbie Peagler, a domestic violence victim who was sentenced to 25 years to life for the murder of her abuser.
