Campbell Park played host to the 36th annual Valentine Fun Run on Saturday, Feb. 9. The run attracted more than 1,100 runners to the annual 5K and 10K race.

The Fun Run was Campbell Recreation Supervisor and race organizer John Araujo’s swan song. Araujo is retiring from organizing the annual race after more than 30 races.

“It’s a lot of work, but there’s always a great team effort and it’s great for the community of Campbell,” he says.

This year's race winners were father and son Jose Pina Sr. for the 10K and Jose Pina Jr. for the 5K.

Participants included Girl Scouts in tutu’s, earning their “Be Fit” badge, The Red Power Divas, a walking/ running support group with 52 runners and walkers taking part and Sharon Chatman, a Santa Clara Superior Court Judge and the founder of The Red Power Divas.
