Traffic Advisory: Lane Closure on Crystal Springs Road

Water pipeline project will require periodic shutdown of Crystal Springs Road near Polhemus Road.

For the next two weeks, Crystal Springs Road. between Polhemus Road and Skyline Boulevard will be periodically closed to one lane as construction continues on the Crystal Springs Pipeline No. 2 (CSPL2)

The lane closures will occur Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. only. Portions of the shoulder near Polhemus Road will be closed 24 hours a day.

The CSPL2 team is working in the area in advance of spring 2012 construction to replace and upgrade the CSPL2 drinking water pipeline. This pipeline provides water to San Mateo County and runs through unincorporated San Mateo County, Hillsborough, Burlingame, Millbrae, San Bruno, South San Francisco, Brisbane and Daly City.

The work is part of the SFPUC’s $4.6 billion Water System Improvement Program (WSIP) to repair, replace, and seismically upgrade the aging Hetch Hetchy Regional Water System.

For more information, call the 24-hour WSIP hotline, (866) 973-1476.
