Several San Mateo Companies Make Fastest-Growing List

Three San Mateo companies in total made the list - and, the list's number one company from the Silicon Valley is from San Mateo.

 

Inc. Magazine's list of 500 of the country's fastest-growing companies has been released, and San Mateo companies have filled several slots.

The list factors in revenue growth over the past four years.

Most notably, the top Silicon Valley company on Inc.'s list is one from good-old San Mateo.

"At the top of the local group is Adap.tv Inc., the San Mateo online video and TV advertising startup whose revenue grew by 5,871.7 percent in the past four years," the Silicon Valley-San Jose Business Journal reported in a re-cap article published Monday.

Overall, Adap.tv - ran by CEO Amir Ashkenazi - came in at number 32 out of 500.

Twelve Silicon Valley companies in total made the list.

Coming in at number 78 is the San Mateo-based social media marketing software company Marketo Inc. Marketo brought in $32.9 million in revenue in 2011, and had a 3,545.1-percent growth over four years.

Coming in at number 99 is San Mateo's SugarSync Inc., a mobile cloud services company. SugarSync brought in $11.3 million in revenue in 2011, and had a 3,031-percent growth over the past four years.

Other Bay Area companies that made the list included the Mountain View-based companies Audience Inc. and Axcient Inc., Santa Clara-based Palo Alto Networks, Milpitas-based Anjaneyap Inc., San Jose-based A10 Networks Inc., Redwood City-based Propel Fuels Inc., Fremont-based Mobifusion Inc., Sunnyvale-based Arteris Inc., and, of course, Menlo Park-based Facebook Inc., included because the company was still private in 2011.
