Motorcycle Rider Faces DUI Charges After Highway 280 Crash

The crash occurred Sunday night in Burlingame.

A 27-year-old man is facing DUI charges after crashing his motorcycle into another vehicle on Interstate Highway 280 in Burlingame on Sunday night, a California Highway Patrol officer said Monday.

David Ezeogu, a Millbrae resident, was allegedly speeding south on Highway 280 at about 8:30 p.m. south of Trousdale Drive when the motorcycle swerved into another lane, coming into contact with the right rear end of a Subaru also traveling south, CHP Officer Art Montiel said.

Ezeogu then swerved to the right and collided with the left rear end of a Toyota that was traveling in another lane and to the front right of the Subaru, according to Montiel.

The impact caused Ezeogu to lose control of the Honda and both Ezeogu and his passenger were ejected from the Honda.

Ezeogu was transported to Stanford University Hospital with major injuries.  Ezeogu's passenger, also a Millbrae resident, was also transported to Stanford University Hospital for complaint of pain and scrapes.

Ezeogu was placed under arrest at Stanford University Hospital on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury to another person.
