Crime Blotter, 2/25-3/4: Pit Bull Attack, Inhaling Computer Cleaner

Excerpts from the San Mateo Police Department's daily call log.

Friday

2:26 a.m. - Suspicious Person - Someone on the 1100 block of College Avenue told police an unknown man was knocking on the person's door.

10:51 a.m. - Theft - An unknown suspect stole goods worth more than $500 from a location at 200 Hillsdale Mall.

1:39 p.m. - Theft - An unknown suspect was caught on video possibly stealing a dress from a store on the 500 block of South Norfolk Street.

3:56 p.m. - Theft / Possible Burglary - Someone reported the theft of some copper wire from a site on the 2600 block of El Camino Real. Police state it could also be burglary.

9:13 p.m. - Suspicious Person - A man reportedly came to a home on the 1600 block of Wolfe Drive and told the resident he was from Pacific Gas and Electric.

Saturday

12:53 p.m. - Runaway Juvenile - A 16-year-old boy ran away from his home on the 1600 block of Eisenhower Street, but texted his mom the next morning stating that he was OK.

1:15 p.m. - Civil Case - Someone on the 400 block of 19th Street wanted to report a person for not filing federal taxes with the IRS.

3:28 p.m. - Civil Dispute - A husband came to an apartment on the first block of West Fifth Avenue in violation of a restraining order, but was gone when police were called.

5:42 p.m. - Theft - An unknown suspect stole a license plate from a car on the 2800 block of Holland Street.

Sunday

2:12 a.m. - Burglary / Arrest - Police arrested two men who smashed a business window on the 3700 block of El Camino Real and entered the building.

8:17 a.m. - Stolen Vehicle - A motorcycle was reported stolen from the 700 block of Birch Avenue.

1:08 p.m. - Domestic Dispute - A woman on the 400 block of Cavanaugh Street told police her brother and his friends entered her home and tried to take the dog.

1:46 p.m. - Disturbance - A person in a back alley on the first block of East Third Avenue was inhaling computer cleaner, screaming and not making sense.

3:04 p.m. - Hit-and-Run / No Injuries - A driver on the 1900 block of Delaware Street told police an elderly lady hit her and fled the scene.

9:25 p.m. - Theft / Cold Case - A suspect was caught on video stealing something from a store on the 2200 block of Bridgepointe Parkway.

Monday

4:40 a.m. - Suspicious Person - A man wearing a black jacket, carrying a backpack and riding a scooter, was reportedly looking into parked cars on the 1100 block of East Santa Inez Avenue.

8:19 a.m. - Strong-Arm Robbery - Two men reportedly jumped a woman on the 900 block of South B Street the night before and took her money.

2:30 p.m. - Vicious Animal - A tan and grey pit bull reportedly attacked a woman and her dog and was running loose, without tags, around the 9800 block of Ocean Avenue.

8:30 p.m. - Domestic Dispute - A teen, possibly 17 or 18, wearing a baseball cap called a woman a "bitch" after she refused to open a front door on the 1000 block of Alameda de Las Pulgas.

8:48 p.m. - Burglary - An unknown suspect smashed a window on the 2200 block of Bridgepointe Parkway and stole a laptop and other items.

Tuesday

10:57 a.m. - Theft - A suspect was caught stealing cell phones in an office on the 900 block of Alameda de Las Pulgas.

12:38 p.m. - Suspicious Circumstances - An unknown suspect kicked in the door of an apartment on the 100 block of North Bayshore Road.

9:21 p.m. - Possible DUI - A driver of a black limousine reportedly hit two curbs in a parking lot on the 400 block of South Norfolk Street.

Wednesday

11:18 a.m. - Suspicious Phone Call - Someone on the 1500 block of West Hillsdale Boulevard got a call from a bill collector who was seeking payment from a very old debt, which the person though was suspicious.

4:29 p.m. - Possible Burglary - A woman came home on the 1500 block of Huron Avenue and found the front door open.

4:51 p.m. - Suspicious Persons - Someone reported some suspicious juveniles on the 700 block of Monte Diablo Avenue, one of whom appeared to have a gun. The item turned out to be a BB gun.

6:09 p.m. - Suspicious Circumstances - A woman reported that someone had entered her storage unit on the 1400 block of Edinburgh Street and removed a stroller, leaving it in front of the unit.

11:02 p.m. - Domestic Disturbance / Possible Battery - A man on the first block of North Claremont Street reported that another man, wearing a white shirt and blue jeans, hit his wife and left the scene on foot.
